BrandGuard Ltd was incorporated in March 2013 as a private independent specialist consultancy firm whose main niche is to bridge “business investigations gap” in the market. BrandGuard Ltd specializes in the following services among others; Anti-illicit trade with experience in all aspects of criminal and civil enforcement of intellectual property rights and as well as countering smuggling. We support companies that have market challenges like unfair competition, copyright/ trade mark license violations, product counterfeiting, etc.

Our mission is to secure brands for a safe world.
This shall be done through developing client focused strategies that help to minimize the impact of illicit trade on business performance.
Collating and disseminating relevant intelligence to assist officials in bringing criminal actions against illicit traders and/ or enabling IPRs holders bring successful civil actions against offenders. Relevant intelligence shall also assist in the operational effectiveness of relevant law enforcement agencies at local, national and international levels.

Enoch Walugembe is the CEO of BrandGuard Ltd, with 18 years in investigations, enforcement, and security. His career spans roles as an intelligence officer, head of enforcement operations, Assistant Commissioner of Enforcement and Security in URA, and Senior Anti-Illicit Trade Manager for East and Central Africa in BAT

Director Admin & Investigations
Director Investigations with Over 20 Years’ experience in Security and law enforcement. The focal point for all investigations in BrandGuard, In charge of Administration and Finance.
Stephen K Kimpwedde.
Director Operations & Legal
He has 22 years’ experience in countering illicit trade as Enforcement Supervisor at URA,12 years as an Associate Member of the Uganda Institute of Bankers and Financial Services, Japanese trained in Intelligence Gathering, Profiling and Analysis US trained in Intellectual property rights enforcement (by USPTO (Nairobi Kenya and Virginia USA).
Paul Jacob Batte.
Legal Manager
Paul Jacob Batte is an advocate of the high court of Uganda and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree(LL.B) from Uganda Christian University and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice (pgDLP) from the law Development Centre. He focuses on intellectual property, commercial and land transactions, he brings this expertise of approximately 10years to BrandGuard ltd whose core objective to clients is brand protection.
Julius E. Mawanda.
Manager Operations
A Police veteran with 6 years of police operations and 4 years of criminal investigations experience. He worked with Tight Security as an investigation officer before joining the Kiboko Enterprises Group as the Chief Security Officer. He is well experienced with police crime detection, prevention and the judicial process and he was the BrandGuard contract manager for the BAT leaf security operations. He is well experienced with police Crime detection, Prevention, Investigations and the Judicial process in his capacity as a lawyer.
